Emily Schultz began her formal dance education at age 16 in Oregon. She spent her summers training with American Ballet Theatre. In 2010, she joined Portland Festival Ballet under the artistic direction of John Magnus where she danced principal roles in the Nutcracker, Raymonda, Le Corsaire, and Alice In Wonderland. Her choreography was chosen in two consecutive years to be performed by the Portland Festival Ballet. Her choreography as received acclaim by Willamette Weekly. They called her work "romantic and striking...like a fine wine." In the summer of 2014, Emily co-directed a show called "chiaroscuro". She has organized the inception of various art organizations and projects in the Portland area, including PDX Contemporary Ballet's "Metamorphosis". She has performed works by acclaimed choreographers including Drew Jacoby, Robert Dekkers, Doug Baum, Jordan Epstein and Emery LaCrone.
